I’m not one for experimentation when choosing a pair of jeans. I always go for kick flares, a skinny look or Levi 501s my boyfriend could wear and limit myself to indigo, stone-wash or black. I think that’s about all a girl needs for a working collection in denim.

But, walking through Primark the other day, I realised that there is more to the wonderful world of hard wearing work wear this season. Let’s call it a kick-starter. Looking at the large selection of pink jeans currently at Primark, I thought they were very eye-catching, but not for why you might first think. As I said, my heart draws me more to the traditional. However, the Primark version of these jeans are shaded in the most delectable pale tinge of almond pink you can get. Just looking reminded me of tripping gaily like a sugar plum fairy at the tiny age of four during my very first ballet classes. Without too much thought, I chose a few pairs took them to the Primark changing rooms, just to take a look and bring myself a little up-to-date on the style, OK?

I had a surprise in store though! Once I was wearing the jeans, set off by a pair of ankle length Out West-style boots, a basic white T-shirt and a generous addition of tan in a bottle, I had an Isabel Marant moment and was taken to one of her Paris fashion sets by some kind of future/past time travel, right out of the Primark store and up and away!

I even felt slimmer in those jeans and the look was rather revitalizing. Pink though, really does make that difference.
