Type 2 Diabetics - Beware Of Crooks

I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic in 2008.

I want to make something clear from the start.

I greatly admire so called “affiliate marketers”, and this is not intended to make detrimantal comments about those who are ethical in their approach.

Secondly, I do a small amount of affiliate marketing myself, but I don’t promote anything to do with what I write about most - diabetes. Not a product, not an eBook, nothing.

Type 2 diabetes is where a person’s body becomes resistant to the hormone insulin, produced by the pancreas. Some people control it by adjusting their diet, others by diet and medication, and others by diet, medication and injections of insulin.

What I get treally upset about, is that there are some people out there who see diabetics as an easy target to make money. This often occurs on line in the field of affiliate marketing. In countries where diabetic drugs are expensive, the temptation of the latest secret “wonder product” that will “cure diabetes” and save money is often very persuasive.

Such people makes claims that border on the libellous. I read a sales page lately that claimed this wonder drug was “100% natural” (surprise, surprise), and that the medical world had covered it up. They had done this because they make money out of diabetics by charging for drugs etc.

So the temptation is to buy this product, because it will save you a fortune on doctor’s bills and medication.

It was a great sales page, which didn’t encourage the obvious questions like “is it safe?” or “how has it been tested?” or even “what if it doesn’t work?”.

The simple truth is that there is no cure for diabetes, it’s that simple.

The problem is that the disease can be managed very well these days. But the monitoring equipment and ongoing drugs can be expensive, depending on the county you are in.

Renal failure and amputations, not to mention blindness are the consequences of untreated diabetes. Why risk your health on the promise of someone trying to make a quick buck?

Some of the hyperbole is amazing on some of these sales pages, “I shed tears of joy when my wife was cured”; beware!

One of the things the writer has enjoyed since having diabetes, is learning to play the guitar. Toby has bought a couple of guitars, one of which is an Ovation, specially shaped to fir the abdomen, which makes it more comfortable for him to play.

Toby was diagnosed with diabetes over 2 years ago, but is able to lead a normal life as far as possible. Visit his latest website on Ovation acoustic electric guitar, where you will find amazing deals and information on Ovation acoustic electric guitar

Is Access to Clean Water A Human Right or a Privilege?

In order to answer that question, one has to take into account where the answerer lives. A thing we know for sure, it that water is a limited resource. Although in the U.S. and Canada, it is not felt physically, there are different problems that have to do with the consumption of water.

A report by EWG (Environmental Working Group) states that more than 230 million Americans were exposed to contaminated tap water in 2005. These results were found through a 2yr independent study done by scientists in America. Over 21 million water tap tests were conducted and more than 4000 water filtration plants were visited.

Of the 260 contaminants found, only half were government regulated. As the situation was brought to public attention, concerned states like Arizona, Florida, and Wisconin used drastic measures to resolve their contamination problems.

Although when we start talking about bottled water, the problems are even worse. EWG, also tried to do a study like this with bottled water. Of the 228 bottled water suppliers, greater than half of them wouldn’t give any information at all about the source of their water, or any of the treatment methods they used. This lack of disclosure, is quite scary for consumers and health care providers. The samples that were given to be tested, were shown to have 38 various chemical pollutants.

Some brands, like Wal-Mart’s “Sam’s Choice” showed cancer-causing chemicals in excess of drinking water safety standards.

Clearly, bottled water is no safer than tap water. It might even be more hazardous to your health, as its origins and filtering methods haven’t been revealed.

Situation in certain parts of Latin America, Europe and Africa is just catastrophic. Of course if you are living in one of those parts of the world where the water can kill you, you should boil it prior to usage or pass it through a powerful filtration system such as “Katadyn hiker pro”.

There are over 1.3 billion people that do not have any access to drinking water at all, according to the World Health Organization. The water they have naturally, gets contaminated because they have little sanitation, and the tap water they have is too dangerous to consume.

Water is something that is a wonderful treasure, but through environmental negligence and pollution, water can become an extremely dangerous weapon. Because of diseases like E.Coli and Cholera, which are water born diseases, 1.8 million people die every year.

Lots of people are now realizing that to make sure that their families are safe, they need to filter their water the right way, and also know what they are drinking.
